Food Empathy

25th Sep 2025
One of the core aims of the Grow at School programme is that students learn about the importance of food empathy. As part of this learning Ms Poyntz brought in some beautiful apples from her own garden along with some pears. Pupils learned about the benefits of buying and sourcing food that has been grown and is in season in Ireland where possible. Ms Poyntz and Maureen cut up some of the apples from Ms Poyntz’s garden and the students absolutely loved them! An apple was also given to each family to bring home. We are very much looking forward to the time when our own school apple trees will start producing fruit in a few years time.
