This term, we have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes with hands-on activities. Students designed and built their own cities, using 3D shapes to create buildings, towers, and landmarks. Some students explored tessellating patterns by pretending to design a new park space, discovering how shapes can fit together perfectly with no gaps or overlaps. Our junior infants created shape people. While first and second classes used tangrams to create pictures and designs, looking at recognise shapes, rotations, and symmetry. It has been a fun unit to explore.
